Coach Development and Accreditation

Welcome to coach accreditation

Thank you for your interest in coaching and supporting the development of ice racing in Western Australia. Our coaches play an important role in creating a safe, inclusive and positive environment for every participant.

To complete your coach registration and accreditation, please work through the requirements below. Some items may already be completed or recognised through previous learning and qualifications.

Complete the required online courses

Coaches are required to complete the following online learning modules. If you already hold a current certificate or recognised equivalent, provide a copy to the club for verification.

Sport Integrity Australia

Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction

Learn about your responsibilities in helping create safe sporting environments for children and young people.

Australian Sports Commission

Community Coaching Essentials Skills Online Course

Develop core community coaching skills, including engaging participants, understanding your role and responsibilities, and creating positive sporting experiences.

When registering: Create an account if you do not already have one and select Ice Racing as your sport where prompted.

Complete the Sport Integrity Australia safeguarding induction, or provide an accepted current certificate.
Complete the ASC Community Coaching Essentials course, or provide an accepted current certificate.
Download or save your certificates of completion.
Submit copies of your certificates to the WAIR Executive Team - Email: secretary@speedskatingperth.com, president@speedskatingperth.com

Complete the coach accreditation quiz. Supporting resources or videos may be provided to assist with the questions.

Quiz Level 1 Coach Competencies

Review the supplied learning resources and supporting video
Complete and return the coach knowledge quiz.

Complete and return the registration forms

Obtain the current versions of the following documents from the club, review them carefully, and return the completed and signed forms.

NCAS Registration Form — check that your details are correct, then sign and return.
AIR Coach Agreement 2025-2026 — read, sign and return the current club coach agreement.

Submit your documents

Send your completed quiz, course certificates and signed registration documents to the club coaching coordinator using the contact details provided by the club.

If you have previously completed relevant courses or hold existing coaching qualifications, include copies so these can be reviewed and recorded.
