Insurance Coverage

I acknowledge that participation in this Race Day is subject to the insurance requirements of Australian Ice Racing. I understand that I must be either a current Australian Ice Racing member or otherwise eligible for coverage under the Australian Ice Racing insurance policy.

Acknowledgement of Risk

I acknowledge that participation in ice racing, speed skating, warm-ups, racing, training, and related activities conducted during this event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

• Falls, collisions, and loss of balance on ice;

• Contact with other skaters, officials, barriers, mats, equipment, or spectators;

• Cuts, bruises, sprains, fractures, concussion, and other injuries;

• Risks arising from the condition of the ice surface, facilities, equipment, or weather;

• Risks associated with physical exertion, racing, and competition.

I understand that these risks may result in serious injury, permanent disability, or death.

Assumption of Risk

I voluntarily choose to participate in this Race Day and accept all risks associated with my participation, whether known or unknown, foreseeable or unforeseeable.

Medical Fitness

I declare that I am medically fit to participate in this event. I agree to inform event officials of any medical condition, injury, or circumstance that may affect my ability to participate safely.

Release and Indemnity

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and discharge the Western Flames Ice Racing Club, Australian Ice Racing, event officials, coaches, volunteers, sponsors, facility operators, and their representatives from any claim, liability, loss, damage, cost, or expense arising from or connected with my participation in this event, except where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the above parties against any claims arising from my actions or conduct while participating in this event.

Equipment and Safety

I agree to:

• Follow all instructions provided by race officials, coaches, and event representatives;

• Wear all required safety equipment, including an approved helmet;

• Use equipment that is properly maintained and suitable for racing;

• Conduct myself in a safe and respectful manner.

Event officials reserve the right to remove any participant from the event if safety instructions are not followed.

Medical Treatment

In the event of injury or illness, I authorise event officials to arrange emergency medical treatment as deemed necessary. I understand that any associated costs are my responsibility.

Photography and Media

I acknowledge that photographs, videos, and recordings may be taken during the event. I consent to the Western Flames Ice Racing Club and Australian Ice Racing using such images and recordings for promotional, educational, reporting, and sporting purposes, including publication on websites, social media, newsletters, and other communications, without compensation or further notice.

Privacy

I understand that personal information collected for this event will be used for event administration, safety, communication, results management, and insurance purposes and handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

Parent/Guardian Consent (for Participants Under 18)

I am the parent or legal guardian of the participant named above. I have read and understood this waiver and consent to their participation in this event under the terms stated herein.

Declaration

I acknowledge that:

• I have read and understood this Race Day Waiver, Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk.

• I understand the risks associated with participation in ice racing and related activities.

• I understand the insurance requirements applicable to this event.

• I sign this document freely and voluntarily.
